Welcome to my new web page.  Check back soon for more information about our music programming at Oaklawn Elementary School.

Mr. Tim Lutz earned his B.M.E. Degree from U.W. Stevens Point in 1986 and a Master of Science in music education from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, studying with Eunice Boardman. He is a past chair of the WMEA Listening Project (4 years) and has served on the committee for many years. This will be his 29th year of teaching. Currently he proudly teaches in Menomonie, Wisconsin at Oaklawn and Elementary School. His primary focus in teaching is inviting students to become lifelong music learners, performers and well-educated audience members. He has a passion for technology and its applications for music education. Tim is active as a piano accompanist, singer, musical director and performer of musical theater for the Menomonie Theater Guild in West Central Wisconsin, and keeps a busy schedule. He has also worked as sound tech on many shows. In addition he is a founding partner in Old Sweet Song productions, performing music of Victorian, Vaudeville, 1920’s, 1930’s and World War II. Tim is also a founding member, singer, board member and accompanist with The Menomonie Singers.

Mr. Lutz has presented music education sessions at both local and national music conventions.

Most recently Mr. Lutz is working on a grant with a team at UW-Stout focussed on Arts Integration Menomonie. Last summer, he also taught a SMART Board class for beginning user music educators in Madison.
