Hi! I'm Matt Wigdahl, and I teach (and learn from!) 5th graders in room 141 here at Oaklawn Elementary School.

I started teaching in Alaska in 2000. I also taught in Minnesota before moving to Wisconsin in 2008. I have only ever taught 3rd and 5th grades. I like the odds.

I graduated from St. Olaf College in 1997 with a degree in Fine Arts, specializing in visual art. I recently earned a M.F.A. in Design from UW-Stout. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher for Middle Childhood, and a holder of a lifetime educator license in Wisconsin.

My goal is to make our classroom an inspiring and surprising place to spend time each day!
